I did a search on Beatrice Potter in Google Images and this scary baby came up.
I should purchase some and create a mobile.

I always wanted to do a Beatrice Potter Nursery. I found a few websites with some cute related items. We still have no idea what kind of crib we want yet or where we want to purchase it. I did see one I liked at Babies R Us... but I'm not sure it will fit in the small room we have planned for the baby. We still have a lot of work to get the actual room ready (luckily we still have 6 months). I'm not sure if we are going to drywall over the existing walls or just work cosmetically. Vince and Grandpa will make that decision ;)

At the last doctor's visit we were able to hear the baby's heart beat. It was truly amazing to hear and realize there is another human being inside of me. What a surreal experience!

We bought an at home listening device that allows us to record the baby’s heartbeat, but it apparently isn’t as strong as the one at the doctor’s office. When I’m further along I’ll tape and post our child’s first sounds. ;)

I'm in that awkward stage where my clothes are beginning to be too tight, but maternity clothes are still a bit too big. I bought some nice maternity pants at Old Navy of all places... They have a pretty nice selection. They are pretty loose right now, but I'm sure that will change by next month.

In other news I highly recommend Jenny McCarthy's "Belly Laughs" book for a new mom. It was really cute and funny… Easy Read for those first trimester nights when you are feeling awful. Her honesty and rawness of pregnancy is refreshing and amusing. It was a pleasant surprise.

I feel soooo sick. Hopefully this phase will pass me by soon...

The only thing that is settling my stomach is a toasted bagel with cream cheese.
I have no idea why.

I have to start drinking more water.. :)

Vince and I made appointments back in November to get our teeth cleaned today. Turns out that when you’re pregnant, there isn't much the dentist is allowed to do during the first trimester :)

I'll have to wait until either the second trimester (but not the Third!) or after our little one is born until my teeth are professionally cleaned again. I'll talk to my ob doctor about it in a few weeks, but I want to play it extra safe.

Vince and I decided that we would wait to tell our families the wonderful news on Christmas Eve when all the family would be together to celebrate the Holiday. Our plan was to present our parents with wrapped Baby Bibs that stated " I love my Grandma". It was an agonizing week waiting to share our news. (This will be the first grandchild).

The Kozlek's
Friday afternoon finally arrived and we were going to tell our family our news. It was really hard not sharing the news right away but some how we managed to wait until present time. When Vin's mom first opened the present, I'm not sure she knew what to think. We didn't give them much time to ponder it... because I blurted out "We're Pregnant!"

The Brennan's
A little after eight o'clock we finally made it to my parents. Everyone was seated around the Christmas tree awaiting our arrival to start opening presents. After settling down, we made sure my mother was the first to open our little present. After opening the present my mother stood still for a while. As soon as I blurted out "We're pregnant!" She burst into tears as well as half of the family. Everyone was so happy to hear the news and this baby will definitely be spoiled and loved. The rest of the night my mother wore and hug the bib.

So here we are, the beginning of the rest of our lives. Vince and I are going to be parents, and we couldn't be happier (or more scared). We decided to keep track of the pregnancy via this baby blog.


Background Info: We are currently 25 years old and have been married for three years. This will be our first baby!!

How we found out:
I woke up Sunday Morning after having a dream that Vince and I had a beautiful Baby. I decided that today would be a good day to take a pregnacy test. This was truly done on a whim(I was only a few days late) so when a faint line appeared, I had a hard time believing it that we might actually be parents. So later that night after our second positive test we decided that tomorrow I would make a doctor's appointment to confirm our news. Monday evening at 4:00 , with yet another positive test we were on our way to becoming parents.
